Why is my car not giving gas while driving?

Ok its a 2000 civic honda dx car runs but sometimes when I hit the gas it wont give power then itll go again then itll do that again well I had a friend/ mechanic check it out and first he changed the fuel pump then cleaned the injectors then he checked the distributor then he check catalyst convertor everything is changed well he gave it back to me its still doing that but only when I first take off for like a minute then it drives normal he hardly charged m e for this but still problem is not fixed it still has trouble going when I hit the gas so anyone know whst this can be??? I wish I csn tke it to a shop but im low on money right now

This could be a fuel regulator problem ,or a airflow problem to get the power you need you need two things proper fuel mix thats created by air and fuel mix so if your not getting a proper amount of fuel or air you wont get the proper power . this could be a fuel regulator or an air intake problem. Is the car throwing any codes if so which ones

No the code does not come up but someone had mentioned that it could be the computer or the crank sensor they told me since there is nothing else it could be but they did say th code would come up if it was that so I dont kno im confused

It does backfire every now n then also but this only happen recently same time as the problem im haaving now

Backfire can indicate bad timing so it may be a good idea to have the timing belt inspected
