Battery or memory card?
Have not used in sometime. Charged and used yesterday (3-6). Today it stopped working. Monitor screen reads "out of memory."

Probably, your memory card is full.
Once you download your pictures onto your computer, you should delete them from your camera's memory card (unless you want to keep specific pictures on your camera for specific reasons). Otherwise the card will inevitably fill up to the point that your camera will refuse to take any more pictures.
