What's wrong with my Xbox One?

My Xbox One was thrown agaisnt the wall following a fight in September, 2015. The console won't turn on unless I use the controller. But even though it can power on, it turns off after 10 minutes on its own; stating that it overheats to protect it. Also, I can't insert any game discs into the console. Does anyone know what might need to be fixed?

It's really hard to know without being able to see the console. From your description these are some thing that may need to be replaced:

1) It sounds like the ribbon cable for the touch power button may be torn or dislodged or something, preventing the console from turning on. There are other things that could be causing this but that's the most likely probably.

2) I'm guessing that the fan is either not working at all or not working properly preventing the console from cooling itself.

3) The disc drive is probably damaged as well.

I hope this helps.
