jec32, you'll have to open it up and take a look at the wiring and check the capacitor. Your fan's symptom could be a failed capacitor. Disconnect the power source from the fan (turn it off) and remove the light kit. You should have a cover that will "hide" the wiring etc. Remove that and check your components with a multimeter. If you can give us a model we may find more information to help you further. Post plenty of images with your question as you go along. That will help us to try and help you. Use this guide for that
