Graphics artefacts then black screen on Toshiba Satellite

Hi everyone!

I have an issue with my old laptop: Since one month, I had graphics artefacts on display times to times but I could continue to use it normally.

Yesterday , my device froze and I saw more and more graphics artefacts then blue screen of the death. I restarted the laptop and I saw the same graphics artefacts directly at beginning then black screen.

Now, when I turn on my device it's just a black screen.

What I tried :

-External display

-shift+f8+power

-turn off -> remove cable->remove battery-> 30s power button -> plug in cable -> turn on - > plug in battery (5 times)

What I think :

-This is the end.. :)

Any idea?

Hi,

If an external monitor is showing a black screen also, try removing the LCD screen video cable from its' connection on the motherboard, and then see if the external monitor shows a normal display. If it still shows a black screen then the GPU has most probably failed and because it is mounted on the systemboard, the systemboard would have to be replaced.
