If you phone is getting hot it means there's a short of some sort in the phone , either in the battery or connectors but it could also be a case of the case touching the board or an internal component . If the phone was dropped or crushed in any way this can happen . It can also happen when the phone is repaired and the tape shields are not replaced. I would start by replacing the battery or at very least checking the battery connection then looking at the motherboard and components for a short it will appear as a dark or burn spot. hope this helps

This looks like a overheating issue, when the processor gets overheated the system turn it off to protect ur device from further damage.
