Why is alarm going off but screen staying black

the tablet starts though you never seen the flicker of light on the screen, the alarm clock settings go off and the screen never lights up to show anything. Have tried a reset and opened it to find a ribbon loose but replacing it has done nothing. could more than 1 have come loose. how would i know if it was lcd issue?

I unfortunately dont have a display cord. i have the ordinary usb it came with for charge and data relay to the pc. i have done that and can see the charge level and memory stuff. it rings now and the only way to shut it up is to open it again or let it run the alarm default time for the alarm to keep going without a response. i only ask could more than one have come free because in looking for a definate way to diagnose needing a new lcd i saw alot of stories of it being a loose connection and i found 1 as it was.

Hi, Have you tried connecting a TV or monitor to the micro HDMI port to see if you get a display?

Hi,

It may be worthwhile to buy a HDMI cable. They are very cheap as you can see. This is just one example on Ebay maybe you can find even better.http://www.ebay.com/itm/4ft-1-2m-Micro-H... . If you can prove that the video is working then it is either the video cable or the lcd screen. If there is no video then it may be the systemboard that is the problem.
