HDMI/DVI/VGA does not receive signal

Hi all,

I just built a PC with an i5-4690 and a Radeon R9 graphic card. The VGA is connected to motherboard and DVI/HDMI are with the graphic card.

When hooking everything together, the monitor says no signal (for all inputs) even though the computer turns on fine. I tested the CPU at my friend's place with HDMI and it works normally. I tested the monitor with my laptop through HDMI and it works too.

So basically, CPU, monitor and cables all work; yet when putting together, it's not working. I'm running out of ideas what might have gone wrong. Please help!!

Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi, With the vga do you have to select that in BIOS or can you select the motherboard graphics? Also stupid I know but are there any drivers to be installed for the monitor Do the laptop and the PC have the same OS installed?http://www.asus.com/us/support/Download/...

I will try to hook up the CPU to some other monitor and download the suggested driver. Wouldn't monitors nowadays can be automatically detected though? Since I can't see anything on my monitor right now, can't really change anything on the settings :(

Hi, I was thinking that the drivers might contain .inf files that set the various resolutions that your monitor can handle, and therefore might give some adj,. parameters.

The issue is that you're plugging a display to the VGA when it should be plugged into the graphics card with an VGA to DVI adapter. Don't use the motherboard's display ports.

If your monitor supports DVI or HDMI, use it. Don't use VGA.

I understand and I did try with both DVI and HDMI, but none of them works. :(
