Here interesting question about iPhone 5C

Hi everyone

I have interesting question that I cannot figure out (it doesn't make sense).

So customer walk in and have his iPhone 5C lcd replaced. I check everything working fine. He was happy and went off. Next day customer calls and say that the digitizer working funny when he is calling people.

So he came back in and i check the proximity sensor, it work only if you cover it with hand, but when it is on your ear it doesn't work. I change the proximity with new one and this one did the same. Work only when you cover it with hand but on the ear it didn't.

So I decide to change the whole LCD/Digitizer again and put another proximity sensor. All work fine after that.

Question: Is it possible LCD/Digitizer to make proximity behave badly?

Thanks

This can depend on the quality of the screen you have. If the proximity sensor glass thing on the screen is not done properly. This can cause issues.

I assume you've mounted it properly when you tried another proximity sensor.

Oh yea I've done millions of them never had problem like this one before. I assume I should put it on the LCD quality as you said. Thanks

Yes I have seen it myself on 5S screens mostly. And others.

Try to use the tiny plastic cover that's on the sensor as well . Or make sure you have that on the new lcd .

Yeah make sure you have the tiny plastic cover on the proximity sensor as that helps it keep it in place for it to be aligned with the proximity sensor glass (Display Assembly glass). The black rubber gasket for the other sensor, which I think to control the auto brightness is also useful as well.
