Why Won't My MacBook Pro Finish Turning On?

I have a Mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro, and when I go to turn it on, the white startup page with the apple logo comes up. It takes about 15 minutes, but when the bar gets to the end, the screen just goes black and turns back off. I have had issues with restarting, sometimes when I pick my MacBook up, or accidentally hit it, it restarts it. I have tried the Command + S startup using fsck -fy many times, and every time, it says that my system has been modified. Thank you in advance for your help.

Restart holding down the option key and select the repair partition. Then run Disk Utilities. You may also have to do this and reinstall the system. There may be other issues we need to address if this fails or if the repair partition has not been installed. Do you know what OS X you are running?

When I restart while holding down option, it shows two options, untitled with an arrow underneath it, and Recovery-10.11. I just updated my computer last week, so I think that I am running the most recent version of software.

Run from the Recovery Partition and see if Disk Utilities will fix it.
