It won't turn on?

My niece spilled a little bit of water on it, but the laptop was closed. When I put it on the charger the green light on the charger comes on, but my actual computer won't turn on? I don't really know what I should do. I don't want to take it up to apple if there's a quick fix or if i just need to buy a new one completely.

Options

More than likely water damage. But try resetting the SMC hold shift-control-option and then pressing the power button while plugged in. Then turn on as normal.
