inverter connector on logic board fell off

The back light on my screen for my late 2007 white mac book when out and when taking it apart to investigate and possibly replace the inverter I noticed that the connection between the logic board to the inverter had disconnected. Is there any way to fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I changed your listing to the A1278 but it may be something different. Please look on the back for the correct number.

Check step 32 to make sure were on the same page. MacBook Core 2 Duo Inverter Replacement

If it's just unplugged put it back in. If it's like the vase on my table that my grand child said just fell off, and it's been pulled off the logic board, you may be able to find a master tech to reattach it for a reasonable fee.

It did fall off the logic board and isn't simply detached from the plug. Unfortunately I am an idiot and I tried to disconnect the inverter cable from the plug that should be attached to the logic board and I pulled a little too hard and the connector that should have been attached to the logic board disintegrated so I don't have anything to re-attach to the logic board now.

This is not a do-it-yourself repair. Hopefully you are in a large city where you can find someone who does component repair. This does not have to be a Mac Tech, just some old guy with many years of experience. It's not something even I would want to attempt.

Hey, Not all of us Techs that work to component level are old! 24 years old here, with several years SMD rework exp.

BTW. Yes I know how to use my tools. and I prefer Tektronix Analog scopes from the 70's and 80's. 5xxx and 7xxx being some of my fav series.

never mind that I'm a Ham Radio guy, and have been a homebrew nut since I was 12.

If your good with the tools, even if its a cheap Aoyue rework station, pick up a damaged board off feebay or somewhere, and change the connector. a good steady hand, and a few tools and you can learn to do it yourself.

There are always exceptions. Homebrew at 12? Must have been hard to carry your carboys.
