What is my Logic board reference number?

Following damage to my macbook (13-inch late 2009)

2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

8GB 1067MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

Serial number: W90054828PW

I have decided to replace the logic board with a 2nd hand one. However, there seem to be two reference numbers for the same model computer:

1) 820-2567-A 661-5395

2) 820-2883-A P7550

Will they both be compatible with my computer?

Is there likely to be much difference?

How do I find the reference number of my original?

Any comments gratefully received. Thanks.

If you look on the edge of the logic board you should find the board ID number. If you stay with the 2.26 GHz board you should get the Rev2 board. You can find a used 2.26 GHz for about $70 US and the 2.4 GHz for $80 US.

2.26 GHz

Rev1

  • Logic Board ID - 820-2567-A
  • Apple P/N - 661-5589

Rev2 >> Current Board <<

  • Logic Board ID - 820-2883-A
  • Apple P/N - 661-5589

2.4 GHz

  • Logic Board ID - 820-2877-A
  • Apple P/N - 661-5640

But Im not sure if Rev 2 on the board will work - my SN: w8005er18pw, emc: 2350, board 820-2567-A (I searched and believe it is 661-5395). Please help me and send some more info to my email: pavel.doschko@gmail.com - Can I buy a rev 2 (661-5589) ? Is it fully compatible?
