Computer Turns Off/Restarts whenever I watch YouTube movies

Whenever I try to play Youtube movies, browse iPhoto library quickly, my MacBook restarts itself. An error will come up, reminding me that the Mac restarted itself due to a failure.

Useful Information: Problem exists on my Brand New WD Black 500GB Hard Drive, AND my brand new Samsung 850 evo SSD. Each has a freshly installed OS, Mavericks to be specific. I took it to KT Electronics that ran an ASD test on it, and they said it got Error 5 - No SMART attributes to check, they said I'd need motherboard repair, $300.

Open to things to try.

Did you replace the hard drive/IR cable when you replaced the drive? What was happening prior to replacing the drive? Did you clean out the fan vents to stop your overheating when watching uTube? Why are you taking it to strangers? (You have US!) Do you have your original system installation DVD? (The ASD is on it).

The project was long in-progress before I joined iFixit, and before I began meeting the Mac Gods, you, OldTurkey, etc. :) I am humbly in the presence of master techs now.

Great idea! I never thought to try the cable for some reason. I think I discarded the theory (oops) because the Sata II versions of the cable didn't die as often as the SATA 3 version found in the 2012 Macbook Pros. I'll report the results by 3PM today.

The History remains simple: Once upon a time, my Macbook develops the habit of restarting during graphic activities, such as YouTube movies, iPhoto, Adobe products, and Blizzard video games. I upgraded to the Samsung 850 evo 1TB Solid State, fresh OS Mavericks install, no data migrated or anything like that to the SSD; the problem still exists. I knew a person who had ASD, he ran the entire test with my original hard drive installed, got an Error 5 - No SMART Attribs to check. Same error existed with SSD installed as well.

I'll go try that cable and I'll report back.

Please check the machine to absolutely verify the exact machine as its behavior reminds mw of the 2011 15" with has a recall.
