iPod will not turn on

Hi

My iPod video died a few years ago, it just stopped working. I tried getting it fixed but everyone told me that it would wipe the data (I used it as an external Hardrive and really want to recover pictures stored on it).

Recently someone suggested that we might try changing the battery, which we did using the guide on this site.

But it seems that it still won't charge/turn on.

Is it a lost cause? Is there anything else I can try?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Try holding down the menu button and middle button for about 10 seconds while plugged in and see if anything displays on screen. Make sure the hold switch is off, of course. This is called a hard reset and won't remove any data. It should force it to restart if it is stuck in a bootloop, or in this case, won't turn on at all.
