820-3662-a Missing component in attached photo.

Got this board and the black light doesn't work and I'm assuming this missing component could be one of the faults and if it's not then im sure it's still a problem that there's something missing. Help anyone? Definitely appreciated.

This does not look normal. What is the history of this machine?

JRH, the part your board is missing is reference designator L8300 which is a 220ohm inductor (ferrite bead ) in a 0805 package. I believe that the assumption is being made that it is a "solder blob" to bridge a component. It is absolutely not. From your image it is very clear that you still have both the solder pads for L8300. The component is not a fuse and it is not bridged. The only reason it does not look normal, is due to the package size compared to the other components.

@oldturkey03 thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer my question it's greatly appreciated! I'm not gonna lie I've followed you for awhile now on here without trying. You've answered and solved many problems I've come across that required me to lurk around online for answers that most of the time I find on here answered by you. Anyways sorry for rambling on just thought I'd give you my thanks and appreciation since this isn't the first time you've helped me learn something new.

So the backlit on the display assembly is not working. I burnt the fuse out before when I didn't fully clean water damage properly on a macbook pro. Looks like you'll have to find another fuse that is the same for that spot.
