will a 2009 MacBook air screen/lid assembly work on a 2013 model?

i'm looking at buying a 2013 macbook air 13" with a damaged lcd.

i can buy a perfect 2009 13" screen/lid for $100, and make a tidy profit if...

it will work?

i've interchanged 2010,2011,2012 models with little difficulty (the display plug on the mainboard is in different locations, but everything reaches ok)

does anybody know if 2009 and 2010 are the same?

thanks!

Sadly, no.

The older model uses a LVDS signaling were as the newer model uses internal DisplayPort signaling (iDP). These are not interchangeable.

Here's a good writeup on iDP: iDP (Internal DisplayPort) Technology Overview

do you know which (sub?)model year this change took effect?

MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013 through Early 2015) has the iDP interface.
