Have a sound issue when using bootcamp running xp,vista,windows 7,have tried most recent realtek drivers but the sound seems like its under water,have looked on the internet for answers and have found this to be a very common problem and is appertaining to version iMac8,1,

Have you run the Apple discs that came with the iMac? These will make the F buttons correspond correctly (Volume Up, Down, Brightness, Eject etc) and should make the speakers work too.

yes i have installed bootcamp drivers,the speaker do work but the sound seems to be distorted,i have googled this problem and it only seems to happen on imac version 8.1
