Playstation 4 system not starting

When I turn the system on it checks the system storage and then gives a message the system can not start. It then wants me to put in a USB drive with update software, but it won't accept the update. I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps. I was able to reinstall the system software, but after that it just got stuck when it started. Any ideas?

Yes, I started it in safe mode, none of the options there helped.

did it come with an error code something like CE-34335-8?

When I try to do the update it gives me CE-34788-0

Replacing the hard drive seems to have fixed it.

Well try unplugging the power cord for 15 to 30 seconds that should work
