After screen replacement TouchID doesn't work anymore

I cracked my iPhone screen accidentally this christmas. I gave it for repair to a non certified technician. The screen was changed and fixed but after the repair the TouchID was unresponsive. Whenever I try to set it up, it makes me skip the setting and gives me a failure message. Moreover the sensor before the repair was completely fine and worked properly. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance :)

Hi Francesco

You can try to restore the phone to factory settings not true iTunes. If doesn't work you have to go back to the guys repairing your phone and ask them about your home button. Most likely they replace it if they brake it during the repair. If this is the case do not update your phone any more because you will get error 53 and Apple will block your phone and you can't use it any more.

Hope this help

I did restore the iPhone to factory settings and the problem is persisting. As much as the guy told me the home button was the same one and was not replaced with a different one. Therefore I don't know what to think of. I read that screens that are not OEM will block the touchid function, by inhibiting the correct transfer of the informations...

I think i have the same problem before where the touch won't work after i replace the charging port, but after update the touch start working again. Apple will release new update to fix error 53 problem so you can try to update it to the newer software and see if this fix the problem.
