Tv has sound but no picture

I have a vizio TV, it has sound but a black screen I put a flashlight up to the tv at an angle in complete darkness and was able to see the show playing. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi,

Unplug the TV and then take off the back and look for swollen or burst capacitors. These are a major cause of TV problems http://electronics-diy.com/schematics/12...

@jsams, what model is your TV? what have you tried to fix it? Sounds like you are having backlight issues, possibly caused by a bad inverter board. To get better information, we would need the model number. It will also help if you post some pictures of what your boards on the inside of the TV look like. Use this guide
