How can I reinstall the home button ribbon on my ipone 4?

i unplug the home button ribbon and when i try to put it back in. i cant seem to push it all the way in. and when i push it harder in the connector part seem to bend the ribbon.

The home button connector has a little "latch" that you had to lift up prior to removing the cable. Ensure that the latch has been lifted before putting the ribbon back in. Also, one can verify if the ribbon is in securely by slightly tugging on the ribbon and ensuring it won't slide out. Also, if the latch was down, it may probably be loose, but I'm sure a little trial and error won't hurt.
