Why is paper jamming

used the printer for 5 index cards, Printer can't feed ordinary paper without a jam. It can still print index cards

Hi,

You don't state the model number, check your user guide on how to clean the paper feed rollers for your printer. Also check, as best you can, that there is no obstruction in the paper feed path.
