Problem with iPad 3

Hi

I've got some problems with my broken iPad 3. It was waterdamaged and now the touchscreen does not work. I also tried another digitizer (tested on another iPad and was working fine), but no success.

Also I noticed that when I start up the iPad the clock shows january 1st 1:00 (due to disconnection of battery), but the weird thing is, that it continues until 1:05 or 1:06 and then jumps back to 1:00 without restarting the iPad!

The LCD, the Digitizer, the Battery, everything was taken from a working iPad to test, so I think that the issue must be on the logic board.

I did clean and visually inspect the logic board without success.

Does anyone have an idea what could be defective?? Or where should I check? I do have the schematics available but have no idea where to look.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

Also, is it possible to make a backup on an unknown computer without confirming the computer on the iPad (since I can not input the passkey I don't know how)

Update (02/18/2016)

Does nobody has an idea for me?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi! Thanks for your response. I did clean it in an ultrasonic bath with special cleaning solution and afterwards I rinsed it in Propanol.

I could upload a picture of the logicboard, but it looks perfectly fine. Do you need a special part of the logicboard?

The picture was just to see f there was any damage

but if you are happy that it is clean then no image needed

i suggest doing a visual check around the battery connector

i can't really think of anything

first time I've hear of the clock resting

That is the weird thing! The clock just resetting. Battrery connector looks fine. Also the iPad boots up so no short there....

Could it be that the problem lies within an IC? Maybe the Digitizer Control IC from Texas Instruments?

wow

i don't know I'm baffled

im not sure which schematics you have but heres the apple one https://yadi.sk/d/6282hMsccQ5PT (better downloaded)

There could be a few thing wrong, the spf connectors could be damaged, the ic chip that controls the touch, or a few resistors or capacitors need replaced. You would need a microscope to properly diagnose these problems, and the technical ability to repair them.

hi Brian, thank you for your input. Could you point out the resistors and capacitors to me? I think it is easiest to start there and measure those.

How do I checke whether the spf connector or the ic is broken? can I measure that with a multimeter? I do have a microscope available and some technical know how.
