First step to repairing home button
My iPhone 6 Plus was dropped into a jacuzzi about a week ago now, and I've since moved over to one of my old phones. Having no pentalobe screwdriver to get the phone open, I got as much water as I could out of the device, and left it to dry hoping for the best, I know I could have done more...
Turning the phone on now, everything seems to be working except the home button. I went into settings and can turn AssistiveTouch on, but I'd really like to have my home button working again instead.
Should my first step be to just obtain a pentalobe screwdriver, disconnect the home button and see if I can repair the water damage when found? Or should I just order a new home button and proceed with the replacement? Or is there another solution to maybe fixing this? At the moment like I said, everything is working fine minus the home button. About a day or two after the accident the screen would continuously freak out as if I were double tapping the home button to bring up the app switching, but now all seems fine minus the home button
Is this a good question?
