Why is my iPod classic 120 gb not turning on?

My ipod classic is not responding to anything i do. it wont respond when i try to charge it, it wont respond when i try to reset it and occasionally if i leave it charging in long enough and plug it into my computer it says that there is an error 1601 and fails to connect to the computer or show any response from the ipod itself.

Now how it got this way im not sure, the only thing i can think of is that i was playing drums near it while it was on the floor and perhaps the vibrations effected it some how ? it may have been lightly kicked but that i did not see happen so i can not clarify that scenario . other than these two scenarios i do not know what could be wrong with it as it was working earlier in that day that it stopped working. i need to know what could be wrong with it to see if i can repair it?

if anyone can help, that would be much appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Damiano the very first thing I'd do is to check the dock connector for any bend pins or corrosion., Clean it with some isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. Then try a different cable and if nothing else replace the battery for the error itself, check on the answer Not starting, DFU-mode detected by itunes, error 1601... and check the solution on Try to restore get a error 29 You also want to try another USB port, another cable, and another computer to make 100% certain and see if if this will help
