Will draining the capacitor reset the dvd player?

I had found out how to get into a secret menu to adjust region settings and must've accidentally changed something I wasn't supposed to and now I get a different display screen and can't get into that secret menu anymore so I was wondering if I drain power from the capacitor inside the dvd player if it'll go back to factory settings as I've tried resetting the machine from the manual and nothing works. Thanks in advance for any useful advice!

Please let us know what brand and model of DVD player you're referring to.

If it makes a difference it's the "Insignia NSDRVCR dvd recorder vhs combo unit." In the past when the machine would freeze and I had to unplug it, the settings got reset, but ever since I messed it up. The settings are stuck. It's showing a LG logo these days and the code doesn't work anymore.
