Opened to repair, worked for a while, possibly static issue

Hello!

Well, I guess my iPhone has bit the dust. A few months back I installed a new battery I purchased from this site and had no issues whatsoever following the procedure.

A few weeks pass and I crack the glass screen.. not an easy replacement, but I finally got around to it a few days ago. The phone was working perfectly for a few days until I noticed the infrared sensors not dimming the phone when I held it to my ear. I wanted to investigate, so I opened the phone again to see if I could find the problem (Also possible the phone was on when I did this).. Lo and behold, when I put everything back together, not able to find the issue w/ the infrared sensors, and the phone completely doesn't work.

It will turn on for 5-10 seconds when plugged into a power source, show the apple start-up logo, emit this strange high-frequency buzzing noise, and then shut off.

It's the most frustrating thing.. I'm out of a phone!! Hopefully I don't have to fork out money on ANOTHER new battery so any help would gladly be appreciated!

Thanks

- Paul

Update

I guess, in short, did I break something opening the phone while it was on? Specifically the battery?

Go and recheck all the connectors for dust/dirt/ bent pins/on properly. It doesn't sound like the battery more like bad connection or short.Maybe power module? You could test with infrared theometer pver components

okay, to solve your first problem: the proximity sensor is what tells the phone to dim during a conversation. I would recommend to reseat cable three securely until the white line on the cable is almost touching the connector

your second problem: opening your iphone while it's on could cause it to short. always make sure it's off before opening it. I would recommend to reset it by holding the power and home button until you see the apple logo. If that doesn't work, try restoring it. Hold the home button for a few seconds and insert the USB cable while itunes is open.

This happened to me once. I let the phone sit for two days, didn't touch it, and it ended up turning back on for me.

clean all the connections with a tooth brush and light alchol. then when you put it together hold the power and home button till the apple logo comes on and release. let me know if this helps. also sometimes when you put the proimity flex in and you close the unit up it can shift and not work.
