Water damaged MacBook Air with screen flicker

Hello everyone,

I am trying to repair my macbook air, which had become water damaged. Thankfully only a bit of liquid went through the vents of the macbook, and got to where the display connector area is on the motherboard. I took the macbook apart as soon as possible, and cleaned it with alchohol and let it dry.

The macbook works fine, no issues except now the screen flickers. The screen stays on, and you can faintly see things on the screen but the whole backlight randomly goes off. I am wondering what would I need to replace? Does it look like I will need a whole new display, or a LVDS cable, or maybe something to do with the logic board?

Here are some pics:

The water spill got through these vents:

I have dealt with this issue 4 - 5 times with water damaged macbooks and replacing the entire display assembly was the only fix that worked .

I dont think it could be the screen though, since its always on. Its just the backlight flickers from super bright to super dim

you need to clean away any corrosion which i can see some of between the microchip amd the black squares (capacitors) in the top right of the second photo. If possible remove the board completely and give it an ultrasonic clean in alcohol. IMHO Repairable …. Louis rRossman on youtube is a good start for information
