Device will not power on after battery replacement

I purchased a replacement battery from ifixit, and followed the teardown. All went smoothly, phone is reassembled now. When I plug in the micro USB, the screen lights up with the charging indicator.

When I press the power button, the phone does not power up. I was careful when prying off the back cover, avoiding the ribbon for the power/volume buttons.

Any thoughts?

Hi, Is the battery sufficiently charged? Hopefully your charger has enough output to run the phone and charge a low battery (if that is the problem)

Hi, thank you for the response. The charge indicator shows beyond 75%. The phone does not power up with USB plugged in or unplugged.

That's the power of community! :) I didn't realize the tolerance of this connector when I was reassembling. For those taking off the mid plane, perhaps it is best to remove the black plastic cover on this connector instead of just relying on hope that the connector is aligned correctly with the socket beneath. Thank you!
