iPod Touch 2G LCD still white after replacing with new one.

My iPod Touch 2G stopped working one day. The screen was all white. I replaced the LCD screen with a new one but the screen is still white. I have not replaced the glass front yet in case I need to replace something else. It will connect to my iTunes and restore, but still white screen. I don't know how to tell if it is a bad LCD or the mother board. Do I need to fully connect the front glass and digitizer for it to show a picture on the lcd? I did get the LCD on Ebay, so not sure how to tell if it is good or not.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The front glass and digitizer are together in one piece. The LCD sits on top of a metal plate (with battery secured underneath) and the LCD ribbon and connector go under the metal plate and battery, then hook in. The LCD does not connect to the digitizer. Thank for your help though.

He means you should have bought a new LCD and new Digitizer at the same time.
