Does the flex cable have to be changed too? Error 53.

Is it enough to replace the home button to the new screen when replacing broken screen in order to not experience error 53? Or do I also have to replace the flex cable going from the home button to the motherboard?

I have been saving a lot of time when fixing phones by having pre-installed camera and metal plate on the phones before I fix screens. So I have only been moving over the home-button from the broken phone. But now I am afraid that this will cause error 53 if I do not move the original flex home-button cable over too.

Answer this question I have this problem too

The bridging flex cable is just cable, point to point, as long as the cable on the new screen is intact, there is no need to transfer the old cable over.

You can verify this by testing Touch ID function after the repair. If Touch ID works, no problem.

So error 53 will only occur when the home-button is damaged or if I use an un-original home button?

To my knowledge the Error 53 is only caused by the home button itself. The extension cable should not cause the error when updated. I have replaced two extension cables so far and not had a problem with those devices getting the error.
