Phone dropped in water

Hi all.

I dropped my phone in water and picked it up after about 3 seconds. It made some funny sounds and I put it off. I placed in rice for 3 days and left it out to dry further with SIM removed for another 2 days. It appeared dry so I charged it. At first, it flickered and then started charging. The charging indicator light went from red to green after some hours but it won't turn on.

Is there anything that can be done? Please, please help.

Hi,

You wasted time putting it in rice, rice does absolutely nothing.

You have two options really.

You could go the DIY approach, dissasemble the phone, and clean it all with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush, or you can take it to a professional repair shop which uses ultrasonic cleaning to clean up liquid damage. :-)
