I cant remove a clean backlight without messing up the tape

Tips? these are perfectly great backlights, i just keep messing up the tape. Any tips and pointers for removing backlights without ruining the tape or backlight frame for IPhone 5c?

Options

Considering that the tape is glued with adhesive, your best bet would be to use heat(heat gun) to remove them. Also not lifting them, at first, is a good idea. Get a flat object like a card and slide it on each side until the backlight is free.
