CD drive intermittently spins, won't read disk

SO I pulled out my still in the box turboduo with the intention of selling it. It had always worked great when I wanted to play it. Of course, now the disk drive stopped functioning properly. Occasionally, the disk will spin and the machine will read nothing. It just never starts the game. The Hucard slot works great. What could be the problem and how hard is a fix?

yea, i have no idea what to do. i don't want to go pulling it apart...yet.
