stuck at safe mode cant return normal mode password forgot

hey all,

i had a fingerprint login at my hp notebook.

i forgot the password.

i had a problem ( internet problem/software) that i would fix. i started the msconfig program and put the laptop in startup in safe mode) en restarted the pc.

now i'm in safe mode but he is asking the pasword ( and the fingerprint doesn't work in safemode).

i tried to restart the pc with an official win 8 disk but i can't choose the startup options ant advanced options.

i tried to use hiren boot cd but i can't choose the option to rest the password ( i have to choose 1 , i do that, but when i hit enter , he doesn't do anything.)

can someone help me out so i can start the pc in normal mode and use my fingerprint login. ?

thanks in advance

Kevin

Chosen Solution

This pertains to version 15.2

On HBCD, boot into MiniXP (Choose 2)

Once booted to the desktop choose the HBCD Menu

Select Programs > Password/Keys > Windows Logins > NTPWEdit

You'll need to change the drive letter to change the local disk (by default it displays the drive of the HBCD).

Finding the correct drive letter:

On your desktop, open my computer

Find the letter for the drive labeled local disk

Updating password:

Edit the drive letter to match that of the local disk (e.g. change the letter C to the letter that matches your local drive)

Click Re(open) and the username you use should appear

Hit change password (I recommend that leaving it blank to set it once you restart)

Restart the computer and try logging in with the fingerprint.

It will allow you to login without the fingerprint.
