Furby was a popular electronic robotic toy resembling a hamster/owl-like creature which went through a period of being a "must-have" toy following its launch in the holiday season of 1998, with continual sales until 2000. Furbies sold 1.8 million units in 1998, 14 million units in 1999, and altogether in its three years of original production, Furbies sold over 40 million units.

Furby not turning on at all! What can I do?

Our Furby won't turn on at all! No voice no movement! I've done the reset and restart but did no good!! What can I do to troubleshoot the problem? I have a multimeter and have some knowledge of electrical!

junemtnman okay so make sure that you have fresh batteries:-). then use a multimeter and check the circuitry of your Furby. Easily possible that the light sensor photocell, or any other component, has failed. For way more info on the Furby, check this site. It has great information and plenty of autopsy pics. Attached is the diagram for the Furby's electronics. The diagram should help you with the trouble shooting

Clean any corrosion off of the furby, and leave the battery’s in overnight, it may take a while for the furby to start up. If nothing happens the best thing to do is to take it apart and get to the frozen motor, it has no voice/movements because the motor is stuck.
