Why does my third party battery not work consistently?

I have an third party battery for my G1 X that I bought online. When I use this battery, the camera will turn off randomly even when fully charged. Is there any way to fix my battery issue?

If you're experiencing intermittent shutdowns with a third party battery, please try using the Canon battery that came with your camera. Third party batteries can have issues working with the battery housing. If this doesn't work, please see our troubleshooting page on battery issues.
