Don't dump the entire phone in, you'll just end up damaging things further, such as the backlight in your screen, the earpiece speaker, loud speaker etc.

Just remove the logic board, you can put that in a tub of isopropyl alcohol, even then, this is a very basic DIY cleaning of water damage, if you don't remove the shields and put it in an ultrasonic cleaner, you're missing out on 80% of the board.

Thank You! I just need to clean the Logic board quickly. It is an old water damaged that I'm trying to fix.

What parts exactly can be damaged by soaking them in alcohol? If I remove them first, can't I then just soak the remaining parts in alcohol to clean them?
