Can I add another M.2 ssd without using raid 0?

Hey everyone,

I have an Acer Aspire R13 laptop that I bought in the 128 gb config. Im finding that I have to clear things off my drive a little too frequently. I found that in this post, there is another opening for an extra M.2 80 mm ssd. The article here states that I have to wipe the whole computer in order to use the other drive normally> So my question is, can I just install the ssd and use it as extra storage? I'm not that sure on how to wipe the computer and such.
