Why is my tv not displaying and image?

Hello, we control our Mitsubishi CRT tv using a VHS/TV remote. Our tv was working fine until I accidentally pressed the channel up/down button. The TV is conneted to the VHS player, and the VHS player is displaying channel numbers as before. However, no matter what I do, the tv will not display anything but grey granules. It doesn't even make a static noise.

Please tell me how to fix my tv. PS my TV is a box tv, so I assume it is CRT based on the research I have done.

I washed the tv's original remote with alcohol and it makes signals with the tv. Only #0150 with our "One for all video expert remote" seems to allow me to control some feature of the tv, but it don't respond berond giving me some yellow-font options that don't help.

I can send photos of the set up/situation if needed. I realize this is kind of unclear, but the tv is quite old, and our only tv.

Hi,

Don't know about your VCR but is there a TV/VCR button on the remote (or even the VCR) that switches the signal from watching the TV channels (selected in the VCR) to watching a video tape?

Typically the TV will need to be on Channel 3 or 4 when using a VCR as a tuner.

I have set the TV on 3, but what do you mean "as a tuner"?
