Can I put a SSD in the optical bat?

hi i m looking to replace my optical drive with new ssd

i have MBP

15-inch Early 2008

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB

Serial Number W88213F9YJX

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

is it good idea to replace optical drive with ssd? is SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB SATA 6Gb/s TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) will work on my system?

do i need 9.5 mm PATA Optical Bay SATA Hard Drive Enclosure?

Put your old hard drive in the optical bay adapter. The bus speed is faster on the hard drive BUS and that's the purpose of an SSD, speed. You lose it in the optical bay.

Just be careful here! The optical drive carrier don't offer crash guard protection so you don't want to bang your system (or move it) while the HD drive is spinning. We trashed over 20 drives doing this (mind you these were company systems so they get beaten up).

Simple answer no the PATA interface is just too slow.
