Is my screen dying?

Hello, i have the lenovo y50 70 non touch version and out of nowhere my screen started to malfunction and look like this

now when i tap the underside of the screen lightly it will return to normal again, is the screen dying or is it something else?

Hi,

I can't make out your picture to well but given your description of the problem, I'm wondering if it is a loose connection to the LCD screen that is causing it.

Here is a link to the service manual, scroll to p.77 this shows the connectors which may (stress only may) be the problem. If you are tapping about where they are approximately it's very co-incidental then.

Thanks for trying to help, I have taken appart the laptop and checked the connector but it was in securely so i'm guessing it's the display itself that is failing. I will be ordering a replacement screen next week.

HI jente,

Just to be sure, connect an external monitor(if you have one) and check its' display. If it is alright then it probably is your LCD screen. Although it still could be the video cable from the motherboard to the screen and not the screen itself. Try tapping near the lid hinges
