PS4 Bluetooth has range of 1 ft or less

A few months back my son pushed my PS4 off of its location causing it to drop approximately two feet. After this event the PS4 had absolutely no problem turning on or playing any game but I noticed that the controller would turn off as soon as I turned the system on from the location I usually played games in. I moved much closer to the PS4/TV and the controller suddenly worked fine. I have absolutely no issue playing as long as I am a ft. away from the device, otherwise the controller commands I issue sputter (I will press right at the menu and it wont stop going right, until I move closer) or the controller just turns off. Is there a way I can fix this myself? Thank you.

Assuming you have trier multiple controllers, possibly the Wi-Fi / Bluetooth card or antenna cable has become damaged from the drop.

If it's just the antenna cable the plug for it can come loose.

You need to open the back cover and remove the power supply have access to replug Wi-Fi antenna cable. The Bluetooth antenna cable is accessibly with just opening the back cover.

Wi-Fi cable is under the power supply but it's very unlikely for that one to come off while the Bluetooth cable can come off easily.

If the Wi-Fi / Bluetooth card is broken then you will need to source the part to get it replaced. I recommend going to a technician to get that part replaced if it is the case because it requires surface mount soldering.

Have you charged or replaced your batteries of your controller? Many Blue tooth devices will transmit at a lower power due to the battery power getting low. Also Blue tooth devices already transmit low power signals so the range of blue tooth is already limited.
