They do not work anymore the side volume keys.

The volume buttons are made into the case as shown in step 11 of the guide picture 2

The only thing you can do is clean the contact points and make sure the motherboard is making contact or replace the mid-frame. I would do a system restore before replacing the mid-frame just in case its a software problem
