I bought my 60GB PS3 while back and when I first got it, the HDMI worked but the software was very old. Once I updated the software, I lost the HDMI port. Won't output audio or video. Id there anything that can be done with it?

While your PS3's off press and hold the power button for about 15 - 30 seconds (or until you here the power beep then 2 more following), This should reset your video settings and allow you to change them.

I've done that several times and it still not outputting through HDMI. It's not the settings. HDMI was working before software update and after the update, it wouldn't output with HDMI.
Firstly try another HDMI cable just in-case.
Does your TV support 1080p? If not it wont display anything for 30 seconds while it tries that mode. You can also press X to skip 1080P and go onto 1080i then 720p (I think that's the order)
Do you have video out on any of the other outputs?

All the other outputs work fine. I've tried 3 different HDMI cables. HDMI was working fine before I updated the software. When I got the PS3, it had a really old version of the software. After updating the software, that when HDMI wasn't working. My TV only supports 720p and worked fine before the update. I've let it try searching for more than 5 minutes before I switch cable type.
I have a similar problem as well, I bought my PS3 recently, so I assume it comes w/ the new software. It's not able to output via HDMI to my 720 tv. I heard that the way to solve it is to lower the output setting of the PS3 to 720 via HDMI, but I couldn't find a way to do that.

nine years have passed since this. I myself own one and after a recent software update it shutdown. i turned it back on but no signal i have tried several tricks and solutions on this website but non of them have worked so far.
