My xbox display in SD but not with the component. Whats wrong?

I have taken my 360 apart. It is the first gen, which does not have an HDMI port. My friend gave it to me because it did not display at all.

I took it apart, and added a fan to the case because it was displaying 2 red lights(which to my understanding is overheating). It now turns on, but only works with the yellow red and white (sd), but not the greeb, blue, red (hd).

Is there something I can do to fix this? Or is my xbox doomed for failure.
