Why isn't my iPhone charge going up?

We replaced the lighting port assembly on an iPhone 5C as the original one was loose and the charger needed to be placed at a certain angle for the phone to register that it was charging. After the part was replaced when the charger was plugged in the lighting bolt showed on the screen and it appeared as if everything was working fine. However, the batter % does not increase so we tried to recalibrate the battery by letting it drain.

Once we done this it showed to put the charger in and when it was put on charge the icon on the screen disappeared but the phone does not actually turn on as it's not receiving any power.

This must be a part inside that is loose as the charing port obviously doesn't connect directly to the battery. Any suggestions?

a few possible things that could be wrong.

Faulty new charging port received, try another.

Faulty battery, try known working battery.

You may have damaged something on the logic board, check near battery connector etc.

Or could be that the U2 IC chip is damaged from using cheap chargers or charging it in he car, this would require knowledge of microsoldering to fix.
