RAM & CPU Upgrade

I understand that Apple is just a plain stingy company, when it comes to user upgradeability.

But is there anyway to upgrade the RAM & CPU on a Macbook Pro?

I also understand that I would have to remove the logic board but would that mean I could upgrade to a better RAM/CPU?

Apple's design direction in this series was to make it as thin as possible which limits what it can do here with removable components. Sadly, the CPU & RAM is soldered to the logic board so you can't upgrade them directly, you can replace the SSD unit though! Presently there is no 3rd party offerings but there are hints some are planning on offering options soon.

As to replacing the logic board while it's technically possible, I don't think it's economically worth it. I think you'll find it cheaper just to sell your system and buy a new one with the amount of RAM you want.
