How can I find out what network my iPhone is locked to?

I purchased an iPhone off of eBay to replace the screen, but the seller did not know the network lock and I am stuck at the activation screen of iPhone. I know that to get past this activation I need to insert a SIM card from the respective network. But I don't know what network the iPhone is locked to, so I don't know what SIM card to get.

How can I find out what network my iPhone is locked to, bearing in mind I can't do the usual trick of, "Settings > General > About".

Have you tried by checking with your IMEI number that is engraved on the back of your phone?

I thought it might've been something to do with that. Just not sure what. Thanks!

If you are stuck on the activation screen. Get the IMEI# by turning the phone off and the back on and then clicking the "i" icon in the bottom right of the screen.

Put the IMEI on swappa and the phone should come up with its carrier.

If not, you can go through various carrier websites to see if they direcyl recongnize it.

swappa doesnt provide the carrier info

by

Yes they do. Have you ever used it?

by

Swappa does not show the carrier info

by

Swappa can estimate the carrier but nowadays it isn't that useful. Apple's GSX database is the way to go.
